Growth Strategy - Three Questions to Help Your Business Bloom

Updated: Jun 30

As a small business owner, you wear many hats. You’re not just the CEO, but head of accounting, human resources, and marketing, to name a few. With so many roles that don’t seem to let up, it is easy to lose sight of the foundation of your business and operate on autopilot. You may be doing a decent job, but not successfully reaching your intended audience, outreach isn’t yielding enough results, or you’re unable to articulate who you are and what you offer. It can feel like endless activities with varied results. My uncle once told me, “you can’t plant corn and expect peas.” If any of this resonates, it may be time to take a step back. No worries, it’s okay. Just breathe and start with these three questions:

Who am I, and am I bringing my authentic self to and through my business? It’s essential to know who your target audience is; however, it’s crucial that you know who you are and present yourself accordingly. You want to move authentically.

What message do I want to convey to my clients consistently? Focus on conveying a consistent message that you want them to associate with you at all times. Note that branding isn’t just how you look on paper but the person you are when they’re within reach of you.

How can I bring the answers to these two questions together to build strong relationships with customers (everyone is a customer) and clients? Your goal is to generate and convert leads into long-term, referring clients. Integrating the answers to these two questions will be the first step in developing an overall plan for business success.

There are many layers to growing a successful business. Plant the seeds essential for your growth. Connecting your authentic self with the message you want to convey is a winning combination and a fabulous start to managing leads, creating systems, and increasing success in your business.
